Situation in De-occupied Kherson Region: Challenges and Priorities

Ця публікація також доступна такими мовами: Українська (Ukrainian)

Governance Restoration and Demining

Active efforts are underway in the liberated territories of the Kherson region to restore infrastructure and provide administrative services. A network of Administrative Service Centers (CNAPs) has been opened, allowing local residents to obtain necessary documents and certificates. Additionally, the demining of the right-bank part of the region is progressing rapidly.

Security Situation: Constant Threat of Shelling

Despite the authorities' efforts, the situation in the region remains difficult. The entire Kherson region is under a constant threat of shelling, particularly from drones. Occupiers actively use drones that can hit even moving vehicles traveling at speeds of up to 70 km/h, as well as targeting pedestrians, cyclists, and people at public transport stops.

Priority – Creating Safe Conditions

One of the main tasks of the local authorities is to ensure the safety of residents. In particular, work is ongoing to increase the number of shelters, allowing people to quickly find safe places during air raids. It is also important that access to essential institutions, such as shops and banks, is not only available but also as safe as possible.

Despite all the difficulties, the residents of de-occupied Kherson strive to live a full life. The authorities are making every effort to ensure they can move around the city without threats to their lives and health.
