What Has Been Accomplished

As a result of the first year of collaboration with the National Health Service, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a resolution regulating the procedure for monitoring compliance with medical service contracts. This is expected to impact the accessibility and quality of medical services and contribute to the protection of patient rights in Ukrainian hospitals.
With financial support from the World Bank, in partnership with the NGO "Patients of Ukraine" and the "Chesno" movement, a series of educational and expert events is planned for 2024 to involve local government representatives and patients in the healthcare monitoring system across various regions of the country.
In collaboration with the World Bank, the platform for interaction among healthcare experts, which was established after the Revolution of Dignity to implement medical reform, has been revived. Over the past year, two meetings of this expert platform have taken place, discussing the current state of the healthcare system, the impacts of the war, and new ideas and challenges, such as the introduction of elements of corporate governance for healthcare facilities and the synchronization of military and civilian medicine sectors. Some of these measures were partially implemented at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
