Ця публікація також доступна такими мовами: Українська (Ukrainian)

On the eve of the Day of Resistance to the Occupation of Crimea, our team visited Lviv to participate in a series of events dedicated to the pressing issues of de-occupation and reintegration.

Tetiana Havrysh, co-founder of the Health Solutions Foundation, held a lecture-discussion for the students of the Ukrainian Leadership Academy. The event focused on the key aspects of de-occupation and its impact on the future of Ukraine. As an expert in preserving human capital and a lawyer by profession, Tetiana shared her expertise and insights with these aspiring leaders.

About the Ukrainian Leadership Academy

The Ukrainian Leadership Academy (ULA) is a groundbreaking educational initiative designed to empower the next generation of leaders in Ukraine. Established in 2015, the ULA combines academic knowledge with personal development, fostering critical thinking, civic responsibility, and leadership skills. Students at the Academy participate in an intensive ten-month program that includes lectures, practical projects, volunteering, and internships, all aimed at preparing them to contribute meaningfully to Ukraine's future.

Lecture Topic: "People or Land: What Does De-Occupation Mean to Us?"
The discussion covered:

  • Ethical challenges of dealing with occupied territories.
  • The constitutional and legal dimensions of de-occupation.
  • Its influence on Ukraine's path toward the European Union and NATO.

Why This Matters

Our foundation actively works on reshaping local and national policies based on European values and the principles of an open society. We believe that young people must engage in addressing such complex issues, as they will soon play a pivotal role in shaping public consensus and leading the nation’s transformation.

Why Students Need to Learn About De-Occupation

Engaging with topics like de-occupation equips students with:

  • Critical Understanding of National Challenges: Knowledge about the complexities of reintegration, legal considerations, and international relations prepares them to think strategically about Ukraine’s future.
  • Ethical Awareness: Discussing human rights and ethical dilemmas fosters empathy and a deeper commitment to societal values.
  • Global Perspective: Exploring how de-occupation aligns with Ukraine’s aspirations for EU and NATO membership helps students contextualize national issues within a broader international framework.

These young leaders will be instrumental in shaping the policies and social agreements that ensure sustainable development and national unity.

We extend our gratitude to the Ukrainian Leadership Academy for supporting a healthy and promising future for Ukraine.
