In partnership with the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSCU) and the German company OptiMedis, the project "Healthy and Capable Community" will be implemented in:

  • Bucha
  • Skvyra
  • Mukachevo
  • Pervomaisk
  • Kramatorsk communities

Its goal is:

to educate and assist in implementing integrated patient care models in these five communities, based on successful international experience.

Despite the war, we must already think about the future and the healthcare system that will support the preservation of human capital, individual health, and the ability for self-realization of those who remain in the rear and those returning from the front. This project provides additional analytical and expert international assistance that will allow us to achieve set goals through specific panels and indicators that communities can use when making health-related decisions.

Victoria Timoshevskaya, Executive Director of Healthy Solutions

Together with experts and consultants from the project, communities will study the approaches and principles of integrated care, methods for its local implementation, and will work with statistical data and medical indicators of the communities.

The model of integrated services, adapted to Ukrainian conditions, will be developed in collaboration with the Bucha community and later offered to the other four selected communities. The implementation of the model in other communities will be advocated by the project team in cooperation with the NHSCU, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Social Policy. By the end of the project, communities will be able to implement pilot projects for the treatment and prevention schemes they select.

The project will have five phases, each of which we will discuss later. For now, we have held our first meeting with the communities, experts, and the project team, gathering their thoughts and expectations for collaboration.

We thank ULEAD with Europe for their support and the communities for their trust in our expertise! Special thanks to Sören Herbst, Head of the Multi-Level Management Support Department at U-LEAD, and Markus Koll, Head of the Cooperation Department, for their involvement in the work.
