Support for Mobile Medical Teams within the Project "Ensuring Access to Life-Saving Medical Care in Eastern Ukraine"

Mobile medical teams play a key role in providing medical care. Thanks to the support of CARE.Ukraine, doctors are constantly improving their skills through specialized training. These include:

  • Tactical Ultrasound Diagnostics (TUSC-UA) – for quick and accurate detection of problems.
  • Basic Life Support and Bleeding Control (BLS+BC) – for urgent situations.
  • Otoscopy – for accurate diagnosis and treatment of ear diseases.
  • Gender Health and Sexual Violence – for combating sexual violence.
  • WHO PEN Tool – for managing patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes.
  • Psychological Trauma – for supporting patients who have experienced psychological trauma.
  • "Patients' Rights and Responsibilities in Ukraine" – to ensure patients' rights.

Results of the Medical Teams’ Work

Since the end of April, the medical teams have been actively working in the Kramatorsk community. During this time, they have examined over 1,100 primary patients and organized regular visits to palliative patients and individuals with chronic diseases. In July 2024, 653 patients were visited, 499 of whom received primary medical care. More than half of the patients are women over the age of 60, and 128 patients were referred to specialists.

Monitoring Visit to Kramatorsk

On July 29, 2024, the "Health Solutions" team, together with CARE.Ukraine, conducted an important monitoring visit to Kramatorsk. The main objectives of the visit were:

  • Assessment of the mobile teams’ work – analysis of schedules and team composition to improve organization.
  • Analysis of examined patients – review of the number of patients and their medical needs.
  • Discussion of issues – identifying challenges and possible ways to solve them.

We express our special thanks to the medical teams for their dedication and vital work. Their contribution to providing medical care not only to the general population but also to palliative patients and the elderly is invaluable.
