On December 9-10, 2023, in Kyiv, within the framework of the "Voice of Women and Leadership - Ukraine" project, a training session titled "Building Coalitions with Key Communities".
This project is implemented with the support of the Government of Canada as part of the "Voice of Women and Leadership - Ukraine" project, which is carried out by the Ukrainian Women’s Fund in cooperation with the International Renaissance Foundation
The training was led by Anastasia Gerasymenko, co-founder of the Women’s March Charitable Organization, and Olena Shevchenko, head of the Insight LGBTQ NGO.

The goal of the training was to deepen participants' knowledge of effective communication methods and partnerships between organizations working with key communities and institutions from various sectors, as well as to define common goals and strategies for achieving them.
Over the course of two days, 32 women activists from various regions of Ukraine, divided into two groups, discussed the algorithms for creating coalitions, identified various stakeholder groups, and studied mechanisms for risk assessment and conflict resolution within the coalition.
Training Results and Outcomes
The training employed a discussion-based approach, which encouraged maximum engagement from participants. The sessions featured a variety of interactive exercises designed to facilitate open dialogue. Participants particularly valued the discussions on leadership, collective responsibility within coalitions, and the allocation of roles and responsibilities within these groups. These discussions highlighted the relevance of the topic and ensured that participants were actively involved and immersed in the learning process.
